We can help control the virus if we all 'Stay Alert'.

Today hundreds of news brands in England are running the copy ‘We can help control the virus if we Stay Alert’ as a cover wrap and online homepage takeover. This is part of three-month UK Government campaign 'All in, all together', coordinated by Newsworks, aimed at keeping the public safe and nation united throughout the pandemic.

The cover wrap encourages readers to play their part in controlling the virus by staying 2 metres apart, washing their hands and thinking of others.

The inside of the cover wrap urges readers to work from home if they can, wash their hands, limit contact with other people and keep a safe distance at work.

This builds on previous messaging that featured in national and regional titles last month urging people to stay at home, which also took form as a cover wrap and online homepage takeover.

Last week, each newsbrand created their own unique articles sharing the stories of Londoners and beyond about how they have been using their time in lockdown to support their communities and those in need.

Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office Michael Gove said at the launch: “Newspapers are the lifeblood of our communities and we need them now more than ever. Their role as a trusted voice and their ability to reach isolated communities is especially vital at this time.”
