Today’s Evening Standard election special was hitting the city’s streets before midday today with a live picture poster front page of “I’LL BE PEOPLE’S PM”.

Fifteen pages of coverage included analysis, comment and graphics showing how London and the rest of the country voted.

Standard editor George Osborne tweeted:
Our first edition @EveningStandard on Boris’s big win - with the best analysis of the results and the way forward.

A second edition of coverage of Boris going to Buckingham Palace followed and then a third edition with another live picture poster front page saying “BORIS HITS THE GROUND RUNNING.”

The print editions followed an all-night operation when the standard’s digital platforms reported the dramatic results and constituency shocks as they happened.
