Evening Standardhosts The Global Thinkers Forum for International Women’s Day.

  • A group of high-profile women from a number of different industries spoke on a panel hosted by ESI Media for International Women's Day
  • Princess Eugenie attended the forum in London and across the seas, Princess Beatrice chaired the event in New York.

This week, Evening Standardproudly hosted a panel event by The Global Thinkers Forum, aligned to International Women’s Day. Taking place at Northcliffe house, home of the Evening Standard and The Independent, the event, which was one of six panels held simultaneously across the globe, welcomed leading women and men from the worlds of business, finance, NGOs, politics, government and the creative industries.

The panel, entitled ‘The Global Conversation: “The Way to the Top”’, was held by the Global Thinkers Forum under its Athena 40 platform in partnership with Afiniti to celebrate International Women’s Day.

“As women become more and more empowered, politically and economically, it’s clear our position is changing around the globe,” Elizabeth Filippouli, founder of Global Thinkers Forum, said at this week’s event.

The forum was held in New York, London, Athens, Amman, Istanbul and Lahore. Princess Eugenie attended the forum in London and across the seas, Princess Beatrice chaired the event in New York.

Doug Wills, the Evening Standard’s Managing Editor, introduced the session and welcomed Tim Willcox, BBC World News Journalist, to chair the London discussion. The London panel featured a range of high-profile women from a number of different industries including: Elizabeth Filippouli, Founder of Global Thinkers Forum and Athena40; Annabel Karmel MBE, best-selling author on children’s food and nutrition; Bridget McIntyre, former Chief Executive Officer of RSA Insurance; Ayesha Hazarika, journalist and broadcaster; Neishaa Gharat, designer for House of Gharats, and it was hosted by Julia de Boinville, Vice President of Business Development for Afiniti.
