David Tomchak to chair Drum Online Media Awards 2020.

  • David Tomchak, Evening Standard digital editor-in-chief, is set to chair this year's Drum Online Media Awards judging panel

Our very own David Tomchak, Evening Standard digital editor-in-chief, is confirmed to chair this year's Drum Online Media Awards.

Last year the awards were a roaring success for Standard.co.uk with the newsbrand bringing home four Drum Online Media Awards for: Best National News Website, Best Campaign (Aids Free), Best Lifestyle News Website and the judges’ Best Website.

Tomchak comments on what he would like to see from this year's entrants: “I want clear strategies that are creative and diverse and have tangible, measurable outcomes. The judges will want to see impactful journalism that reflects and is relevant to the diverse audiences we serve.

“Submissions that show creativity, strong editorial acumen and diversity will stand out. That could be new ways of attracting audiences, commercial diversity, a story that managed to hold power to account, something unique and entertaining…. or something else entirely.”
